This capacity reconstruction project primarily consists of widening SR 75 (US 231) from 4 to 6 lanes from SR 30A (US 98) 15th Street to south of Pipe Line Road and constructing flyover ramps on SR 30A (US 98) and on SR 77. The existing typical section from SR 30A to just north of SR 389 consists of 5-12 foot travel lanes with sidewalk on the west side of the roadway. From north of SR 389 to the end of the project, the typical section consists of 2-12 foot travel lanes in each direction separated by a variable width median. Approximately 62,000 LF of sidewalk will be added/replaced. Approximately 45 turn lanes will be constructed/reconstructed. There are 17 signalized intersection upgrades on this project. Drainage improvements and ponds will be constructed on this project. Roadway widening on this project will consist of US 231 - from 4 to 6 lanes, SR 77 - 4 lane reconstruction, SR 389 - from 2 to 4 lanes, Transmitter Road - from 2 to 4 lanes. New bridges/overpasses will consist of (1) southbound US 231 to westbound US 98 Flyover, (2) eastbound US 98 to northbound US 231 Flyover, (3) US 98 over Jenks Avenue, (4) US 98 over Harrison Avenue, (5) SPUI Bridge SR 77 over US 231, and (6) replacement of Mill Bayou Bridge.
