Project Details

The intent of these projects is to widen just over 6 miles of SR 388 from 2 to 4 lanes with a 12-foot shared-use path on the south and construct drainage improvements. Segment 5 is funded for right-of-way acquisition and construction. Segment 6 is not funded for right-of-way or construction in the current FDOT Five-Year Work Program.

Segment 5: from SR 79 to Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport unique features include: 4 miles, multi-lane roundabout at the entrance to Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, 4-lane bridge over Crooked Creek, dedicated wildlife crossing under the bridge, improved signalized intersection at SR 79, and bids for construction are scheduled to be received fall 2020.

Segment 6: from Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport to east of Burnt Mill Creek unique features include: 2 miles, remove existing causeway and build a 4-lane bridge over Burnt Mill Creek, and dedicated wildlife crossing under the bridge.

Roadway Typical Section: 12-foot travel lanes, bike lanes and 12-foot shared-use path on the south.

Crooked Creek and Burnt Mill Creek Bridges Typical Section: 12-foot travel lanes, 12-foot shared-use path on the south side, and barrier wall between travel lanes and shared-use path.
